The Leptolalax applebyi group of Asian leaf-litter frogs currently comprises four species of particularly small-bodied (<40 mm SVL) species distributed in the Central Highlands of Vietnam and northeastern Cambodia and formally delineate and describe five of these lineages as distinct species.
Phylogenetic surveys on the newt genus Tylototriton sensu lato (Salamandridae, Caudata) reveal cryptic diversity and novel diversification promoted by historical climatic shifts

- Biology, Environmental SciencePeerJ
- 12 March 2018
Investigation of the diversification patterns of the newt genus Tylototriton sensu lato found that the genus held a higher diversification rate in the late Miocene-to-Pliocene era than that in the Pleistocene, and the reinforcement of East Asian monsoons associated with the stepwise uplifts of the Tibetan Plateau promoted the radiation of the genus in southeastern Asia.

The results of the time-calibration and biogeographic optimization analyses show that trionychid dispersals out of Asia took place between 45 and 49 million years ago in the Eocene, and the accelerated rates of diversification and dispersal within the family correspond surprisingly well to global warming periods between the mid Paleocene and the early Oligocene.
A new species of Gracixalus (Amphibia: Anura: Rhacophoridae) from northern Vietnam
- T. Nguyen, M. Le, C. Pham, T. Nguyen, M. Bonkowski, T. Ziegler
- BiologyOrganisms Diversity & Evolution
- 1 June 2013
A new species of small tree frog from northern Vietnam is described based on morphological differences and molecular divergence and the molecular data showed that the new species is nested in the same group with Gracixalus jinxiuensis sensu lato.
A new species of karst-dwelling bent-toed gecko (Squamata: Gekkonidae) from Khammouane Province, central Laos.
- V. Q. Luu, T. Nguyen, M. Le, M. Bonkowski, T. Ziegler
- BiologyZootaxa
