Freshwater crabs and the biodiversity crisis: Importance, threats, status, and conservation challenges
Pleistocene speciation of freshwater crabs (Crustacea: Potamidae: Geothelphusa) from northern Taiwan and southern Ryukyus, as revealed by phylogenetic relationships
Typhoon damage on a shallow mesophotic reef in Okinawa, Japan
It is shown that large foliose corals at deeper depths are just as susceptible to typhoon damage as shallower branching corals, however, descriptive functional group analyses resulted in only minor changes after the disturbance, suggesting the high likelihood of recovery and the high resilience capacity of this mesophotic reef.
New Records of Four Grapsoid Crabs (Crustacea: Decapoda: Brachyura) from Japan, with Notes on Four Rare Species
Four species of semiterrestrial grapsoid crabs are recorded from Japanese waters for the first time based on material from the Ryukyu Islands. These are: Pachygrapsus planifrons De Man, 1888…

There is an urgent need for increased species exploration and for the development of a conservation strategy for China's threatened (and potentially threatened) endemic freshwater crab species.
Biodiversity surveys reveal eight new species of freshwater crabs (Decapoda: Brachyura: Potamidae) from Yunnan Province, China
The number of the freshwater crabs of Yunnan Province is increased to 58, with nine species proving to be new to science, and eight of which are described here, bringing the number of species in the area to 58.
Establishment of a new genus for Asthenognathus gallardoi Serène & Soh, 1976 within Gaeticinae Davie & N.K. Ng, 2007 (Crustacea: Decapoda: Brachyura: Varunidae)
A new genus is established for Asthenognathus gallardoi to accommodate it in Gaeticinae after it was found that the species possesses long setae of the palp of the third maxilliped and the fused male abdominal segments that are diagnostic characters of Gaeticinas.
Two new species of leucosiid crabs (Decapoda: Brachyura) from the Ryukyu Islands, Japan
Two new species of leucosiid crabs of the genera Alox and Ebalia are described, one of which is distinguished from all eight congeners by the shape of the carapace.

This study records the decapods and stomatopod crustaceans fouling a semisubmersible oil platform dry docked for hull cleaning in Jurong Port, Singapore and records the first mantis shrimp recorded in a biofouling community.
Uca jocelynae sp. nov., a new species of fiddler crab (Crustacea: Brachyura: Ocypodidae) from the Western Pacific
A new species of fiddler crab, Uca jocelynae sp. nov., belonging to the U. vocans complex, is described from the islands in Western Pacific on the basis of morphological and molecular data. The new…
