Foliage and floral samples from 45 favored host plants (24 families) of the Japanese beetle were evaluated to determine their influence on the feeding response of the insect under laboratory conditions.

Laboratory studies with tepa, apholate, and metepa showed that the topical application of these compounds to adults of the Japanese beetle at dosages between 1.58 and 50 µg resulted in varying levels of egg infertility.
