Juvenile hormone and colony conditions differentially influence cytochrome P450 gene expression in the termite Reticulitermes flavipes*
This work investigated the diversity of family 4 cytochrome P450 (CYP4) genes in Reticulitermes flavipes workers, with the specific goal of identifying P450s potentially involved in regulating caste differentiation, and identified seven novel CYP4 genes.
Regulation of polyphenic caste differentiation in the termite Reticulitermes flavipes by interaction of intrinsic and extrinsic factors

The present study provides the first mechanistic evidence linking an intrinsic caste regulatory factor (hexamerin proteins) to an upstream extrinsic factor (environment) and a downstream response (caste differentiation) consistent with the hypothesis that the hexamerins serve as an environmentally and nutritionally responsive switching mechanism that regulates termite caste polyphenism.
New Aderidae (Coleoptera: Tenebrionoidea) from Baltic and Bitterfeld amber.
Nine extinct species and one genus of aderid beetles (Coleoptera: Tenebrionoidea: Aderidae) are described from Baltic and Bitterfeld amber from Germany, Russia (Kaliningrad), Poland, and Denmark.…
Sexual Dimorphism of New Zealand Puppet Beetles (Aderidae, Coleoptera, Tenebrionoidea): Systematic Revision, Description of Three New Genera, and Phylogeny for Zenascus, gen. n.
Phenotypic characters previously employed in the higher classification of the Aderidae, including secondary sexually dimorphic characters, are discussed and a phylogenetic analysis for the ten New Zealand species of Zenascus is performed to reconstruct trait evolution in males, which display extremeDimorphic antennomere modifications.
Taxonomic Revision and Phylogenetic Analysis of the Genus Elytroleptus Dugés (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Cerambycinae: Trachyderini).
The longhorned beetle genus Elytroleptus Dugés (Cerambycidae: CerambyCinae: Trachyderini) is revised to include fifteen species and a phylogenetic analysis of ElytRoleptus is performed, suggesting it is monophyletic and supported by four unambiguous synapomorphies.
Systematics of Puppet Beetles (Coleoptera, Aderidae): Classification, Molecular Phylogenetics & Evolution of Sexual Dimorphism
- T. L. Grzymala
The primary goal of this study was to reconstruct the evolutionary history of the beetle family Aderidae worldwide and examine the evolution of sexually dimorphic characters using current phylogenetic methods while incorporating both morphological and molecular data.

- BiologyThe Coleopterists Bulletin
- 22 December 2020
Abstract An intensive survey of the Aderidae (Coleoptera) of Latimer County, Oklahoma, USA was conducted during 1984–1985. This study yielded 25 species representing 10 genera, including one species…
Taxonomic review of Cratocerus Dejean, 1829 (Coleoptera, Carabidae) with the description of six new species
A diagnosis of the South and Central American genus Cratocerus Dejean (Coleoptera: Carabidae) and a key to all species is provided and Habitus images are provided along with illustrations and images of male genitalia, female genitalia and diagnostic morphological characters.
