Immune defects in active mycobacterial diseases in patients with primary immunodeficiency diseases (PIDs).
Transplantation of unrelated donor umbilical cord blood for nonmalignant diseases: a single institution's experience with 45 patients.
Clinical relevance of internal tandem duplication of the FLT3 gene in childhood acute myeloid leukemia
Recently, an internal tandem duplication of the FLT3 gene (FLT3/ITD) was found in approximately 20% of adult acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cases and associated with a poor outcome, but the clinical significance is unclear.
K‐ras mutations and N‐ras mutations in childhood acute leukemias with or without mixed‐lineage leukemia gene rearrangements
This study investigated the association of Ras mutations with childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with special reference to the presence or absence of mixed‐lineage leukemia gene (MLL) rearrangements.
Cooperating gene mutations in childhood acute myeloid leukemia with special reference on mutations of ASXL1, TET2, IDH1, IDH2, and DNMT3A.
It is concluded that mutated epigenetic regulators were much less than those in adult AML but with frequent cooperating mutations, and ASXL1, TET2, and IDH1 mutations were associated with specific genetic subtypes.
NUDT15 gene polymorphism related to mercaptopurine intolerance in Taiwan Chinese children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia
The high frequency ofrisk variant for NUDT15, but not the very low frequency of risk variant for TPMT, was closely associated with the intolerance to mercaptopurine in children with ALL in Taiwan, contrast to that of European descent.
Cooperating mutations of receptor tyrosine kinases and Ras genes in childhood core-binding factor acute myeloid leukemia and a comparative analysis on paired diagnosis and relapse samples
This study showed that 54% of childhood CBF–AML had RTKs and/or Ras mutations; c-KIT but not CSF1R mutations play a role in the leukemogenesis of Childhood CBF-AML.
Efficacy of Helicobacter pylori eradication on platelet recovery in children with chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura
It is demonstrated for eradication of H. pylori after treatment in all infected patients, and five of the nine patients had increased platelet counts that persisted throughout the follow-up period.
Long-term results of Taiwan Pediatric Oncology Group studies 1997 and 2002 for childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Although long-term outcome in TPOG clinical trials is comparable with results being reported worldwide, the persistent strength of certain prognostic variables and the lower frequencies of favorable outcome predictors in Taiwanese children warrant renewed effort to cure a higher proportion of patients while preserving their quality of life.

Most HPS occurred in previously healthy children, and a substantial proportion of cases rapidly progressed to death, and most cases were associated with viral infection, particularly EBV, and young children tended to develop neutropenia-associated bacteremia during the active phase of the disease.
