- T. Hofsvang, Berit Snøan, A. Andersen, Heidi Heggen, Le Ngoc Anh
- Biology
- 1 March 2005
Different aspects of the biology of one species, Liriomyza sativae Blanchard, were studied during the period May 2000-July 2001 in Hanoi province in northern Vietnam on longbean, soybean, tomato, potato and cucumber, indicating resistance in the leafminers.
Fecundity and intrinsic rate of increase of the aphid parasitoid Ephedrus cerasicola Starý (Hym., Aphidiidae)
- E. B. Hågvar, T. Hofsvang
- Biology
- 12 January 1990
Species within the genus Ephedrus seem to have a very high fecundity compared with other genera of Aphidiidae.
The predation of Chrysoperla carnea (Neurop., Chrysopidae) on eggs and larvae of Mamestra brassicae (Lep., Noctuidae)
- I. Klingen, N. Johansen, T. Hofsvang
- Biology
- 12 January 1996
The predation rate of Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) on eggs and larvae of the lepidopterous species Mamestra brassicae (L.) was investigated including the prey's influence on survival and development including the quality aspect of the prey.
Discrepancy in laboratory and field attraction of apple fruit moth Argyresthia conjugella to host plant volatiles

- Biology

Attraction to synthetic compounds identified from rowan, anethole and 2‐phenyl ethanol confirms the role of plant volatiles in host finding and demonstrates that interaction with the background odour contributes to the behavioural effect of plant volatile stimuli in the field.
Mechanisms of host discrimination and intraspecific competition in the aphid parasitoid Ephedrus cerasicola
- T. Hofsvang
- Biology
- 1 October 1988
The aphid parasitoid Ephedrus cerasicola Starý (Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae) discriminates between parasitized and unparasitized aphid hosts in two different ways and indicated that it responded to an internal marker, probably by means of chemoreceptors on the ovipositor.
