Morphological, stereological and radiological changes in pinealectomized chicken cervical vertebrae
Significant evidence supports the hypothesis that melatonin plays an important role in osteogenesis and demonstrates for the first time pinealectomy‐induced histomorphometrical changes in chicken vertebral column using stereological methods, suggesting that pineal gland/melatonin may have an osteoinductive effect on bone formation.
Comparison of Effects of Low- versus High-Dose Heparin on Access-Site Complications during Transradial Coronary Angiography: A Double-Blind Randomized Study
A lower dose of heparin (i.e. 2,500 U) decreases bleeding during transradial band deflation without an increase in radial artery occlusion, and higher-dose heparIn was found to be an independent predictor of bleeding.
Comparison of mean platelet volume values among different causes of pulmonary hypertension.
The results indicate that mean platelet volume is not only elevated in pulmonary arterial hypertension, but also due to other causes of pulmonary hypertension.
A combination of methylprednisolone and quercetin is effective for the treatment of cardiac contusion following blunt chest trauma in rats
It is concluded that a combination of quercetin and methylprednisolone can be used for the specific treatment of cardiac contusion.
Predictive value of red cell distribution width in intrahospital mortality and postintervention thrombolysis in myocardial infarction flow in patients with acute anterior myocardial infarction
A high admission RDW level in patients with acute AMI undergoing a primary percutaneous coronary intervention was associated with an increased risk for intrahospital cardiovascular mortality, but was not associated with worse postinterventional TIMI flow.
Effects of polyglecaprone 25, silk and catgut suture materials on oral mucosa wound healing in diabetic rats: an evaluation of nitric oxide dynamics.
All of the materials have the potential capacity to be well tolerated however monocryl seemed to have more beneficial effects on wound healing in diabetic subjects.
Acute myocardial infarction and renal infarction in a bodybuilder using anabolic steroids.
This is the first case of renal infarction that developed in the early hours of primary PCI, despite effective anticoagulant and antiplatelet treatment, and may be explained by the use of anabolic steroids.
