Correction of perfusate concentration for sample removal.

  • 1 July 1982
TLDR
The method can be used when the time interval between samples and when VS vary from sample to sample, but return of the drug from the perfused body to the perfusate after sampling may cause C'i to be overestimated.
Letter: Enhancement of optical rotation of levodopa by cyclization.
TLDR
A TLC limit test for d-dopa in levodopa is proposed, involving conversion of the enantiomers to diastereomeric dipeptides, and methods based on stereo- specific enzymatic destruction oflevodopa are described.
Erythrocytes as a total barrier for renal excretion of hydrochlorothiazide: slow influx and efflux across erythrocyte membranes.
TLDR
The potential barrier effect of erythrocytes on renal excretion (mainly by tubular secretion) of hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) was evaluated in nine anesthetized rats during steady-state iv infusion, consistent with data indicating that distribution equilibrium of HCTZ in arterial blood might not be reached in vivo even at steady state.
Kinetics of procaterol auto-oxidation in buffered acid solutions.

  • 1 September 1987
TLDR
The results of this study indicate that procaterol in solution is more stable at acidic pH, in the absence of heavy metal ions, and protected from air.
Intrahepatic distribution of hydrochlorothiazide and quinidine in rats: implications in pharmacokinetics.
TLDR
The intrahepatic distributions of a nonmetabolized drug and a highly metabolized drug, quinidine (QD), were studied separately in five anesthetized rats during steady-state intravenous infusion to indicate that drugs that are not complicated by hepatic metabolism may tend to show more "homogeneous" distribution and those that arehighly metabolized and/or known to strongly bind to hepatic tissue component(s) may show less "homogenous" distribution.
Large differences in the biological half-life and volume of distribution of hydrochlorothiazide in normal subjects from eleven studies. Correlation with their last blood sampling times.
TLDR
The present analyses show a positive correlation between the length of the last blood sampling time (tlast) employed and the t1/2 or Vdarea, which is attributed to the insufficient length of time used in blood sampling for a drug exhibiting polyexponential disposition function.
Thalifaurine and dehydrodiscretine, new quaternary protoberberines from Thalictrum fauriei.
TLDR
Two new quaternary protoberberines, thalifaurine and dehydrodiscretine, were isolated from the ethanolic extract of Thalictrum fauriei Hayata and their structural assignment was confirmed by synthesis of both compounds.
High-pressure liquid chromatographic assay of theophylline, ephedrine hydrochloride, and phenobarbital tablets.
TLDR
An innovation high-pressure liquid chromatographic method is described in which theophylline, ephedrine hydrochloride, and phenobarbital are determined simultaneously with butabarbital as the internal standard.
