Methomyl is a highly toxic carbamate insecticide which is widely used in many agricultural countries. We have applied the Fourier-transformed infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic method to study the toxicity of methomyl on cytoskeletal protein and the nucleic acid of rat spleen cells.
