Biogeography, ecology and conservation of Erebia oeme (Hübner) in the Carpathians (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae: Satyrinae)
It is shown that E. oeme is likely to be extremely local in the Carpathians and arguments to consider the species as vulnerable in Romania are provided and DNA barcoding is tested as a method to discriminate between these species and confirmed that it represents an effective identification tool for the taxa involved. Wanted! Dead or alive: the tale of the Brown’s Grayling (Pseudochazara amymone)
It is argued that hiding valuable information regarding threatened insect species may have negative effects and it is advocated to publish available distribution data so that conservation measures may be undertaken where and when necessary. Expand
The Butterflies of Greece, Second Edition.
Greek Lepidoptera fauna is very rich in species numbers. It was with great anticipation that in 1997, the publication of a first book on the subject was received. Lazaros N. Pamperis had worked for aExpand
Butterflies and Skippers in the Dodecanese Islands (Greece): new data and an update on their distribution (Lepidoptera: Hesperioidea & Papilionoidea)

New data regarding the butterflies (Lepidoptera: Rhopalocera) of Romania, with additional comments (general distribution in Romania, habitat preferences, threats and protection) for ten localized
During a field trip from mid July to early August 2006, the authors found new data regarding the distribution of different butterfly species (Rhopalocera: Papilionoidea and Hesperioidea) in Romania.Expand
Contribution to the knowledge of the butterfly fauna of Albania
Albanian insect fauna is one of the least studied in Europe. In 2012 and 2013 surveys were undertaken with the aim of improving the knowledge of the distribution of butterflies, particularly in theExpand

Pseudochazara amymone (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae) in Albania: Variability analysis, androconial scales and new distributional data
For the first time a comparison of variable external characters of a series of males and females of Pseudochazara amymone (Brown, 1976) from southern Albania is conducted. Pseudochazara amymone,Expand
High resolution DNA barcode library for European butterflies reveals continental patterns of mitochondrial genetic diversity
The first high-resolution reference library for European butterflies that provides 97% taxon coverage and 22,306 COI sequences is assembled and results of mitochondrial diversity show elevated haplotype richness in southern European refugia, and this dataset provides a valuable resource for specimen identification, conservation, and research.
