Current genomic perspectives on animal diversity neglect two prominent phyla, the molluscs and annelids, that together account for nearly one-third of known marine species and are important both ecologically and as experimental systems in classical embryology. Here we describe the draft genomes of the owl limpet (Lottia gigantea), a marine polychaete… (More)
The wnt gene family encodes a set of secreted glycoproteins involved in key developmental processes, including cell fate specification and regulation of posterior growth (Cadigan KM, Nusse R. 1997. Wnt signaling: a common theme in animal development. Genes Dev. 11:3286-3305.; Martin BL, Kimelman D. 2009. Wnt signaling and the evolution of embryonic… (More)
The super-phylum Lophotrochozoa contains the plurality of extant animal phyla and exhibits a corresponding diversity of adult body plans. Moreover, in contrast to Ecdysozoa and Deuterostomia, most lophotrochozoans exhibit a conserved pattern of stereotyped early divisions called spiral cleavage. In particular, bilateral mesoderm in most lophotrochozoan… (More)
In sexually reproducing animals, primordial germ cells (PGCs) are often set aside early in embryogenesis, a strategy that minimizes the risk of genomic damage associated with replication and mitosis during the cell cycle. Here, we have used germ line markers (piwi, vasa, and nanos) and microinjected cell lineage tracers to show that PGC specification in the… (More)
In this paper, we study the number of solutions to the equation (x + 1) d = x d + 1. This equation gives the value of the third power sum equation in case of Niho type exponents and is helpful in finding the distribution of the values C d (τ). We provide the number of the solutions using the new method.
Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis is a common method used for proteome profiling to separate, visualize and identify new proteins. A high resolution protein separation on 2-D gel is important to obtain good reliable protein spots that do not overlap. Pig is an important animal species used for meat production; its proteomics studies have covered both… (More)
A novel Gram-stain positive, aerobic, short rod-shaped, non-motile bacterium, designated strain CHO1T, was isolated from rhizosphere soil from a ginseng agriculture field. Strain CHO1T was observed to form yellow colonies on R2A agar medium. The cell wall peptidoglycan was found to contain alanine, glycine, glutamic acid, d-ornithine and serine. The cell… (More)
Due to the change in the naming convention of Sphin-gomonas chungbukensis DJ77 to Sphingobium chung-bukense DJ77, the title of the article is updated to ''Identification of inducible proteins in the phenanthrene degrader Sphingobium chungbukense DJ77 by 2-dimensional electrophoresis and liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry''.
We investigate the relationship between the 0-tree and other trees in linear nongroup cellular automata. And we show that given a 0-basic path of 0-tree and a nonzero attractor α of a multiple attractor linear cellulara automata with two predecessor we construct an α-tree of that multiple attractor linear cellular automata.
