Transcriptional regulation of hepatic lipogenesis
Under hyperglycaemic and hypoinsulinaemic conditions, LXRs maintain the ability to upregulate the expression of glycolytic andlipogenic enzymes, including glucokinase, SREBP1C, ChREBPα and ChRE BPβ. Expand
Molecular analysis of duck hepatitis virus type 1 reveals a novel lineage close to the genus Parechovirus in the family Picornaviridae.
Analysis of the genomic and predicted polyprotein sequences revealed several unusual features, including the absence of a predicted maturation cleavage of VP0, the presence of two unrelated 2A protein motifs and a 3' UTR extended markedly compared with that of any other picornavirus. Expand
Chronological Study of Antibiotic Resistances and Their Relevant Genes in Korean Avian Pathogenic Escherichia coli Isolates
A chronological analysis demonstrated significant and continuous increases in the frequencies of resistances to several antibiotics and of the relevant resistance genes (tetA, strA-strB, and TEM), mutations in gyrA and parC, and multidrug-resistant APEC strains during the period 2000 to 2005. AMPK Phosphorylates Desnutrin/ATGL and Hormone-Sensitive Lipase To Regulate Lipolysis and Fatty Acid Oxidation within Adipose Tissue
Overall, for the first time, in vivo evidence of the role of AMPK in the phosphorylation and regulation of desnutrin/ATGL and HSL and thus adipose lipolysis is provided. Expand
Sequence analysis of the hemagglutinin gene of H9N2 Korean avian influenza viruses and assessment of the pathogenic potential of isolate MS96.
Sequence analysis of the hemagglutinin (HA) gene of five Korean H9N2 avian influenza virus (AIV) isolates showed that these viruses were closely related and possibly came from the same source.Expand
Characterization of a Recombinant Newcastle Disease Virus Vaccine Strain
KBNP-C4152R2L is a promising vaccine strain and viral vector in terms of antigenicity, productivity, safety, and pathogenic stability. Expand
Genomic sequence of an antigenic variant Newcastle disease virus isolated in Korea
The antigenicity of KBNP-4152 was distinct from La Sota, and the expected genome size was 15,192 nt, as was the case with other recent virulent ND viruses analyzed. Expand
Variation of a Newcastle Disease Virus Hemagglutinin-Neuraminidase Linear Epitope
ABSTRACT Fifty-six Newcastle disease virus strains collected from 2000 to 2006 could be grouped into subgenotype VIId. However, they displayed cumulative mutations in and around the linear epitope ofExpand
Toward a user-oriented recommendation system for real estate websites
An online homebuyer's search program is developed, based on an investigation of search behaviors, and a user-oriented recommendation system for real estate websites is implemented via a combination of case-based reasoning and an ontological structure. Expand
Shikonin induces cell cycle arrest in human gastric cancer (AGS) by early growth response 1 (Egr1)-mediated p21 gene expression.
It is found that shikonin inhibits cell proliferation by arresting cell cycle progression at the G2/M phase via modulation of p21 in AGS cells and the p21 gene was transactivated by early growth response1 (Egr1) in response to the shik onin treatment. Expand
