Key findings of this micro-morphological study were presence of numerous diacytic stomata on both adaxial and abaxial leaf surfaces, abundant glandular sessile trichomes on abaxian leaf surfaces and reticulate pollen ornamentation with echinate sulcus outlined with smooth morus that may serve as pharmacognostic markers aiding in accurate identification and quality control of this herb.

The edge based variational level set method is able to segment the intima-media layer precisely from common carotid artery precisely and seems to be clinically useful in diagnosis of cardiovascular disease.
