It is shown that Ski can block TGF-β signaling by interfering with the phosphorylation of Smad2 and Smad3 by the activated T GF-β type I receptor, and it is demonstrated that overexpression of Ski induces the assembly of Smd2-Smad4 and Smd3- Smad4 complexes independent of TGF -β signaling. Expand
