Signalspace Detection (SSD) is a promising concept for symbol detection, especially on magnetic recording channels. We introduce a concept of adaptive SSD, that is characterized by a high detection performance and robustness against parameter variation.
The clock tree is the interconnect net on Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) with the heaviest load and consumes up to 40% of the overall power budget. Substantial savings of the overall power dissipations are possible by optimizing the clock tree. Although these savings are already relevant at system-level, only little effort has been made to consider the clock tree… (More)
— In this paper, we present a low-complexity soft detection and soft decoding magnetic disk drive read channel with a modified soft output signal space detector (S 3 D) which uses 3D-110 equalization and an error/erasure decoding Reed Solomon (RS) code. The detector determines Max-Log reliability information for intersymbol interference (ISI) channels with… (More)
