A retrospective analysis was conducted on 80 patients with intracranial mengiomas treated with Gamma Knife radiosurgery between 1993 and 1996. The purpose was to analyze the efficacy of the treatment and to assess appropriate treatment parameters. The results were assessed by regular MR examinations, and tumor volume was measured at 6-month intervals. Mean(More)
A two-step method, i.e., the transfer acyl analysis and then the chiral HPLC analysis, was employed in the screening of the cosmid library of Microbacterium hydrocarbonoxydans genome. Two enantiocomplementary γ-lactamase clones were found. A 40-kb cosmid showed (−)-γ-lactamase activity, and the activity was from Mhg which was reported previously according(More)
A novel (+) γ-lactamase gene (rutB) was cloned from Escherichia coli JM109 and expressed in E. coli BL21 (DE3), and the recombinant protein was characterized. The optimal conditions for the enzyme were pH 7.0 and temperature 30 °C, which indicated that it was a mesophilic protein. The free purified enzyme was deactivated when incubated at 50 °C for 30 min.(More)
Giardia lamblia is a zoonotic flagellate protozoan in the intestine of human and many mammals including dogs. To assess a threat of dog-derived G. lamblia to humans, the common dog-derived G. lamblia assemblages A, C, and D were genotyped by high-resolution melting (HRM) technology. According to β-giardin gene sequence, the qPCR-HRM primers BG5 and BG7 were(More)
Giardia duodenalis is a zoonotic protozoan that parasitizes the upper small intestine of human and many mammals including dogs. To develop a restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) method for typing zoonotic (A, B) and host-specific (C, D) assemblages of G. duodenalis from dog, β-giardin gene was amplified with design primer pairs B3 and B4. The PCR(More)
a r t i c l e i n f o The application of proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controllers to chemical processes may not achieve the desired effect due to large time delay, model/plant mismatches, etc, which causes performance deterioration. In view of this, the paper first proposes a new PID controller design based on dynamic matrix control (DMC)(More)
Ancylostoma ceylanicum, A. caninum, and Giardia lamblia assemblage A are common intestinal parasites of dogs and cats; they can also infect humans, causing parasitic zoonoses. In this study, a multiplex PCR method was developed for simultaneous identification and detection of those three zoonotic parasites. Three pairs of specific primers were designed(More)
BACKGROUND γ-lactamase is used for the resolution of γ-lactam which is utilized in the synthesizing of abacavir and peramivir. In some cases, enzymatic method is the most utilized method because of its high efficiency and productivity. The cellulose binding domain (CBD) of cellulose is often used as the bio-specific affinity matrix for enzyme(More)
At present, autotransporter protein mediated surface display has opened a new dimension in the development of whole-cell biocatalysts. Here, we report the identification of a novel autotransporter Xcc_Est from Xanthomonas campestris pv campestris 8004 by bioinformatic analysis and application of Xcc_Est as an anchoring motif for surface display of(More)
