- Computer ScienceIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing
- 10 April 2013
From numerical results, it is confirmed that the proposed joint precoding and compression strategy outperforms conventional approaches based on the separate design of precode and compression or independent compression across the BSs.
Robust and Efficient Distributed Compression for Cloud Radio Access Networks
- Seok-Hwan Park, O. Simeone, O. Sahin, S. Shamai
- Computer ScienceIEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology
- 15 June 2012
From numerical results, it is observed that the proposed robust compression scheme compensates for a large fraction of the performance loss induced by the imperfect statistical information, and the proposed BS selection algorithm is seen to perform close to the more complex exhaustive search solution.

- Computer ScienceIEEE Wireless Communications Letters
- 16 April 2014
The problem of maximizing the weighted sum-rate maximization across multiple clusters is tackled by deriving an iterative algorithm that converges to a locally optimal point of the problem and significantly outperforms the existing approach based on intra-cluster optimization.

- Seok-Hwan Park, O. Simeone, O. Sahin, S. Shamai
- Computer ScienceIEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology
- 26 December 2013
Decentralized optimization algorithms are proposed under the assumption of limited CSI at the RUs for efficient backhaul compression strategies for the uplink of C-RANs with a general multihop backhaul topology.

- Daesung Yu, Junbeom Kim, Seok-Hwan Park
- Computer ScienceIEEE Wireless Communications Letters
- 3 July 2019
This letter studies the optimization of rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA) transmission technique for a cloud radio access network (C-RAN) downlink system and shows the performance gains of the proposed RSMA scheme over conventional space-division multiple access and non-orthogonal multiple access schemes as well as over a conventionalRSMA scheme that uses a single common signal.

- Seok-Hwan Park, O. Simeone, S. Shamai
- Computer ScienceInternational Workshop on Signal Processing…
- 3 July 2016
Numerical results are provided to compare the latency performance of the hard- and soft-transfer fronthauling schemes in terms of delivery latency, offering new insights as compared to existing studies that focus solely on the transmission rate of the wireless segment.

- Jaein Kim, Seok-Hwan Park, O. Simeone, Inkyu Lee, Shlomo Shamai (Shitz)
- Computer ScienceIEEE Transactions on Communications
- 28 February 2019
This paper studies the optimization of the analog and digital components of the hybrid beamforming solution for remote radio heads (RRHs) in a downlink cloud radio access network architecture and proposes a block coordinate descent scheme based on the weighted minimum-mean-square-error approach.
