Schizophrenia has long been associated with difficulties in visual tracking of a moving object. Deficits are most notable in tracking tasks that require inhibition of saccades during active smooth pursuit. In order to assess whether there is a more global problem in inhibition of other eye movement systems while the smooth pursuit system is active, this(More)
The engineering of large (thickness > 100 μm) tissues requires a microvascular network to supply nutrients and remove waste. To produce microvasculature in vitro, a scaffold is required to mechanically support and stimulate endothelial cell (EC) adhesion and growth. Scaffolds for ECs are currently produced by patterning polymers or other biomaterials into(More)
The purpose of this work is to explore learning and instruction within an experimental, project-based undergraduate history course designed to support students in engaging in historical inquiry. Specifically, students working in teams collaboratively wrote, revised, evaluated, and reviewed papers and presentations representing the diverse perspectives of(More)
This assessment of the potential for disposal of CO 2 in geological settings considers use in enhanced oil recovery, disposal in saline aquifers, storage in caverns in salt, and reaction with igneous rocks rich in magnesium and iron. Factors that limit the potential for disposal in saline aquifers include thickness of alluvial cover; nearness to faults;(More)

Seasonal cycles of platelet 3H-imipramine binding were compared in 49 endogenous unipolar depressed patients and 20 normal volunteers. A significant sinusoidal component was detected in the Bmax of binding in both patients and controls with similar amplitudes and seasonal peaks. However, the yearly average (mesor) of the patient group was significantly(More)
One month of imipramine treatment increased both the Kd and Bmax of platelet 3H-imipramine binding in 11 endogenous unipolar depressed patients. Continued treatment (13 weeks) of 5 patients subsequently lowered the Bmax values of 2 patients who had initially shown the largest increases, so that binding was no longer significantly elevated after 13 weeks.(More)
