Sercon: Server Consolidation Algorithm using Live Migration of Virtual Machines for Green Computing
- A. Murtazaev, Sangyoon Oh
- Computer Science
- 1 May 2011
This work proposes server consolidation algorithm - Sercon, which not only minimizes the overall number of used servers, but also minimized the number of migrations, and verified the feasibility of the algorithm along with showing its scalability by conducting experiments with eight different test cases.

Ensemble Learning with Active Example Selection for Imbalanced Biomedical Data Classification
- Sangyoon Oh, Min Su Lee, Byoung-Tak Zhang
- Computer ScienceIEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology…
- 1 March 2011
An ensemble learning method combined with active example selection to resolve the imbalanced data problem is described, showing that the proposed method outperforms both the random under sampling and the ensemble with under sampling methods.
Mitigating Cold Start Problem in Serverless Computing with Function Fusion
- Seungjun Lee, Daegun Yoon, Sangho Yeo, Sangyoon Oh
- Computer ScienceItalian National Conference on Sensors
- 1 December 2021
This study identifies three latencies that affect response time, presents a workflow response time model considering the latency, and efficiently finds a fusion solution that can optimize the response time on the cold start.

Grid services for earthquake science
- G. Fox, S. Ko, Choon-Han Youn
- Computer ScienceConcurrency and Computation
- 1 May 2002
An information system architecture for the ACES (Asia–Pacific Cooperation for Earthquake Simulation) community is described that assumes that all significant data is defined by an XML layer which could be virtual, but whose existence ensures that all data is object‐based and can be accessed and searched in this form.
Evaluating ARM HPC clusters for scientific workloads
- Maqbool Jahanzeb, Sangyoon Oh, Geoffrey Fox
- Computer ScienceConcurrency and Computation
- 10 December 2015
It is claimed that the performance of ARM SoCs depends heavily on the memory bandwidth, network latency, application class, workload type, and support for compiler optimizations, and this paper presents a comprehensive evaluation of results that covers major aspects of server and HPC benchmarking for ARM‐based SoCs.
