Potent α-amylase inhibitory activity of Indian Ayurvedic medicinal plants
Results suggests that extracts of Linum usitatisumum, Morus alba and Ocimum tenuiflorum act effectively as PPA inhibitors leading to a reduction in starch hydrolysis and hence eventually to lowered glucose levels.
Environmental and industrial applications of Yarrowia lipolytica
Applications in bioremediation of environments contaminated with aliphatic and aromatic compounds, organic pollutants, 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene, and metals are reviewed, which will form a base for future developments in this field.
Emulsifier from a tropical marine yeast, Yarrowia lipolytica NCIM 3589
A tropical marine strain of Yarrowia lipolytica, NCIM 3589 produced emulsifiers in the presence of alkanes or crude oil by attachment to large droplets and the cell‐associated and extracellular emulsifier was shown to have similar properties.
Anti-biofilm potential of a glycolipid surfactant produced by a tropical marine strain of Serratia marcescens
A tropical marine bacterium isolated from the hard coral, Symphyllia sp. was identified as Serratia marcescens on the basis of morphological, biochemical and 16S rDNA analysis. The bacterium showed
