A conserved retinoic acid responsive element in the murine Hoxb-1 gene is required for expression in the developing gut.
It is demonstrated that expression of the WT transgene in the gut increases in response to exogenous RA, resulting in anterior expansion of the expression in the Gut, and a role for Hoxb-1 in the anteroposterior axis patterning of the gut and a critical role for endogenous retinoids in early gut development is suggested.
2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin inhibits luminal cell differentiation and androgen responsiveness of the ventral prostate without inhibiting prostatic 5alpha-dihydrotestosterone formation or
TCDD exposure impairs prostate growth and androgen responsiveness by inhibiting prostatic epithelial cell differentiation, and transiently reduced the androgen -induced expression of prostatic-binding protein subunit C3, decreased ventral prostate epithelialcell androgen receptor expression, and inhibited the formation of androgen responsive luminal epithelial cells.

The finding of high concentrations of prorenin in human ovarian follicular fluid obtained from follicles of women prepared for in vitro fertilization and Immunohistochemical staining of human ovaries with anti-human renin antibody demonstrate the presence of renin primarily in theca cells suggest that the theca cell is the source of the large quantities of Prorenin.
An extracellular matrix molecule that is selectively expressed during development is important for gastrulation in the sea urchin embryo.
ECM 18 appears to be important in mediating select morphogenetic changes during gastrulation and the pattern of its expression in the embryo is unique among the extracellular matrix molecules known in this embryo.
Cytokine regulation of HIV-1 LTR transactivation in human hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines.
HCC cells at different stages of differentiation may produce different levels of cellular transacting factors activated by each of these agents, suggesting the lack of receptors or activity of some signal transduction factors which are present in well differentiated HEP-G2 and moderately differentiated J5 cells.
An evolutionary conserved element is essential for somite and adjacent mesenchymal expression of the Hoxa1 gene
Results indicate that in transgenic animals, the evolutionary conserved CE2 element is a somite and adjacent mesenchymal enhancer of Hoxa1 expression, which is critical for normal embryonic development.
The Isolation of Two Proline-Containing Relaxin Species from a Porcine Relaxin Concentrate 1
Summary A combination of exclusion chromatography on Bio-Gel P-10 and electrophoresis on a column of Sephadex G-25 at pH 9 has been used to isolate three proteins with relaxin activity from a porcine
Transient, localized accumulation of alpha-spectrin during sea urchin morphogenesis.
These data demonstrated that alpha-spectrin from the sea urchin is a highly conserved member of the spectrin superfamily of proteins and that its elevated expression in specific cell types anticipates overt morphogenesis.
Endoderm differentiation in vitro identifies a transitional period for endoderm ontogeny in the sea urchin embryo.
These studies define a transitional period in the ontogeny of the endoderm, from cells reliant on interactions to promote fate specification and organization of territories to later events involved in morphogenesis that result from cell-type-specific gene expression.
A novel HLA-C allele, Cw*0119, isolated from the Han Chinese.
A novel HLA-C allele, Cw*0119, which was identified from an individual of the Han Chinese, differs from Cw*010201 at codon 76 (AGC-->TGC) and codon 178 (CTG-->CCG).
