Papaya Polygalacturonase and its Role in Thermally Injured Ripening Fruit
- H. T. Chan, S. Tam, S. Seo
- Chemistry
- 1981
The polygalacturonase (E.C. 3.2.1.15) (PGase) activity in papayas increased with fruit ripeness. PGase activity was highest in the placenta with the activity decreasing outwardly from the placenta to…

It is confirmed that the present type 2 strains from mulberry can be discriminated clearly from other soft rot Erwinia species.
Characterization of Korean Erwinia carotovora Strains from Potato and Chinese Cabbage
Four Erwinia carotovora strains isolated from potatoes showing blackleg symptoms and rotted Chinese cabbage were analysed by biochemical tests and sequence analysis of 16S rDNA and 16S-23S rRNA intergenic spacer (IGS) regions, and the results indicated that Asian Eca strains were distinct from European Eca strain, although they were phenotycally homogeneous.

- Young‐Sook Kim, Jun-Mo Cho, C. Lim
- Biology
- 1999
Inoculation of potato tuber slices with thaxtomin A partially purified from crude extract of a pathogenic S. turgidiscabies ST5 reproduce necrotic reaction suggesting that thaxtomination A is a pathogenicity determinant in S.TurgidISCabies.
