Strong antioxidant activity of their extracts that was superior to known antioxidant ascorbic acid is revealed and indicate their intake may be beneficial as food additives.
Influence of nicorandil on the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of gliclazide in rats and rabbits
The interaction observed appears to be pharmacodynamic at the receptor level as expected and reduced the effect of gliclazide with no significant change in pharmacokinetics when administered in combination.

The study confirmed that selective delivery of 5-ASA to the colon can be achieved using guar gum as a carrier in the form of a compression coating over the drug core.
