A phylogenetic study based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that [Sphingomonas] chungbukensis IMSNU 11152(T) formed a cluster with members of the genus Sphingobium, and it is proposed that strains B90A, UT26 and Sp+ are the type strains of SphingOBium indicum sp.

Reclassification of Amycolatopsis mediterranei DSM 46095 as Amycolatopsis rifamycinica sp. nov.

Results from DNA-DNA hybridization experiments and comparison of DNA profiling patterns using pulsed-field gel electrophoresis supported the assignment of strain DSM 46095 to a novel species and showed that the differences between different isolates of A. mediterranei were as large as those between Amycolatopsis species.
