A radio-pulsing white dwarf binary star
- T. Marsh, B. Gänsicke, P. Wheatley
- PhysicsNature
- 27 July 2016
The discovery is reported of a white dwarf/cool star binary that emits from X-ray to radio wavelengths and the spin-down power is an order of magnitude larger than that seen in electromagnetic radiation, which suggests that AR Sco is primarily spin-powered.

- S. Littlefair, S. Casewell, P. Kerry
- Physics, Geology
- 10 September 2014
We present high time resolution SDSS-g′ and SDSS-z′ light curves of the primary eclipse in SDSS J141126.20+200911.1, together with time-resolved X-Shooter spectroscopy and near-infrared (NIR) JHKs…

- D. Steeghs, J. McClintock, S. Parsons, M. Reid, S. Littlefair, V. Dhillon
- Physics
- 10 May 2013
We present a new dynamical study of the black hole X-ray transient GRS1915+105 making use of near-infrared spectroscopy obtained with X-shooter at the Very Large Telescope. We detect a large number…
A precision study of two eclipsing white dwarf plus M dwarf binaries
- S. Parsons, T. Marsh, C. Tappert
- Physics, Geology
- 24 November 2011
The mass and radius of the WD in GKVir are consistent with evolutionary models for a 50000K carbon-oxygen (CO) core WD, and the secondary star in SDSSJ1212-0123 has a radius ~9per cent larger than predicted.
