The prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus was found to be 7.1 per cent in a tertiary care hospital in Haryana and risk factors found to been significantly associated with GDM were age, educational level, socio-economic status, pre-pregnancy weight and BMI, weight gain, acanthosis nigricans, family history of diabetes or hypertension and past history of GDM.
