The updated taxonomy of the order Mononegavirales is presented as now accepted by the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV).
Candidate New Rotavirus Species in Sheltered Dogs, Hungary
- E. Mihalov-Kovács, Ákos Gellért, K. Bányai
- Biology, EngineeringEmerging Infectious Diseases
- 1 April 2015
The novel rotavirus species displayed limited genome sequence homology to representatives of the 8 rotav virus species, A–H, and qualifies as a candidate new rotvirus species that is tentatively named Rotavirus I.

Morphological and genetic differences among actinosporean stages of fish-parasitic myxosporeans (Myxozoa): difficulties of species identification
- E. Eszterbauer, S. Marton, O. Rácz, Márta Letenyei, K. Molnár
- BiologySystematic Parasitology
- 5 May 2006
This study confirmed that actinospore classification based solely on traditional morphological features may lead to false conclusions, thus sequence analysis of the 18S rDNA and/or other genes is recommended in species and type descriptions.
Comparative morphological and molecular studies on Myxobolus spp. infecting chub from the river Danube, Hungary, and description of M. muellericus sp. n.
- K. Molnár, S. Marton, E. Eszterbauer, C. Székely
- BiologyDiseases of Aquatic Organisms
- 21 November 2006
Despite similarities of some species in spore morphology, 18S rDNA sequences showed clear differences between the species examined.
Equine-like G3 rotavirus in Hungary, 2015 - Is it a novel intergenogroup reassortant pandemic strain?
Evidence is provided that a closely related G3P[8] strain circulated in Hungary during 2015 and Whole genome sequencing and phylogenetic analysis showed that the identified strain continues to evolve by reassortment.
Mutations Associated with Decreased Susceptibility to Seven Antimicrobial Families in Field and Laboratory-Derived Mycoplasma bovis Strains
- K. M. Sulyok, Z. Kreizinger, M. Gyuranecz
- BiologyAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy
- 28 November 2016
The molecular mechanisms of resistance to fluoroquinolones, tetracyclines, an aminocyclitol, macrolides, a lincosamide, a phenicol, and pleuromutilins were investigated in Mycoplasma bovis to identify mutations responsible for the high MICs of certain antibiotics.
Differentiation of Myxobolus spp. (Myxozoa: Myxobolidae) infecting roach (Rutilus rutilus) in Hungary
- K. Molnár, S. Marton, C. Székely, E. Eszterbauer
- BiologyParasitology Research
- 10 August 2010
The findings of the study demonstrate that morphologically similar spores could only be correctly identified by considering the location of plasmodia and the genetic characters of the myxozoan species.
