Average plasma glucose level during recovery were similar in low glucose, medium glucose, and high glucose groups, while average plasma insulin levels were higher with higher glucose intake (16 +/- 1, 21 +/- 3, and 38 +/- 4 microU).

All cruciate ligament injuries in the three upper divisions for men and women in Norwegian team handball in the 1989‐90 and 1990–91 seasons were registered and no significant differences were observed in injury incidence during matches between different types of floors.

It is concluded that glycogen synthesis during recovery following prolonged severe exercise can proceed at the same rate in diabetic subjects taking their regular insulin as in non-diabetic subjects.

It is concluded that some muscle glycogen repletion may occur after prolonged, severe exercise even under fasting conditions and it is suggested that this may proceed through an increased hepatic gluconeogenesis.
