Methiozolin [5-(2,6-difluorobenzyl)oxymethyl-5-methyl-3,3(3-methylthiophen-2-yl)-1,2-isoxazoline], a new annual bluegrass (Poa annua L.) herbicide for turfgrasses.
Methiozolin is an excellent candidate for annual bluegrass management in turfgrasses and provided 80 to 100% control of annualbluegrass when applied in the fall with acceptable and temporary injury to creeping bentgrass, and about 60% control when applications in the spring with no bentgrass injury in the field. Potential of an Indigenous Fungus, Plectosporium tabacinum, as a Mycoherbicide for Control of Arrowhead (Sagittaria trifolia).
Results indicate that P. tabacinum has potential as a selective mycoherbicide for arrowhead control. Expand
Mechanism of Action and Selectivity of Quinclorac in Grass Roots
Results are consistent with a mechanism of action in which quinclorac acts as an inhibitor of cell wall biosynthesis in sensitive grasses, which could be explained by differential sensitivity at the site of action. Expand
3,7-Dichloroquinolinecarboxylic Acid Inhibits Cell-Wall Biosynthesis in Maize Roots
The data suggest that quinclorac acts primarily as a cell-wall biosynthesis inhibitor in a susceptible grass by a mechanism that is different from that of 2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile. Expand
Degradation of the sulfonylurea herbicide LGC-42153 in flooded soil.
A new sulfonylurea herbicide for use in rice with major metabolic reaction was the cleavage of the carboxyl ester bond to give 1-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)-3-[2-(1-hydroxy- 2-fluoropropyl)pyridine-3-sulfonyl]urea, which underwent hydrolysis of the sulfonamide bridge. Expand
Development of The New Turf Herbicide Methiozolin
Methiozolin (5-(2,6-difluoro-benzyloxymethyl)-5-methyl-3-(3-methyl- thiophen-2-yl)- 4,5-dihydro-isoxazole) is a new turf herbicide in isoxazoline chemistry. The herbicide controls grass weeds and hasExpand
In vivo pharmacokinetics of pyribenzoxim in rats.
Pyribenzoxim was used to study the pharmacokinetics of the compound after oral administration of a dose of 1000 mg kg-1 to male Sprague-Dawley rats and the tissue-to-blood ratio (TBR) was highest in the liver. Expand

Differences in Herbicidal Activity, Phytotoxic Symptom and Auxin Activity of Quinclorac among Plant Species Compared with 2,4-D.
Greenhouse experiments were conducted with 35 plant species to evaluate the selectivity and symptoms caused by quinclorac, and it is suggested that the mode of action of quinClorac on susceptible grasses is not related to auxin activity. Expand
Soil metabolism of [14C]methiozolin under aerobic and anaerobic flooded conditions.
Results from this study suggest that methiozolin is considered to undergo fast degradation by aerobic microbes, but not by anaerobic microbes in soil. Expand
