L-Galactono-γ-lactone Dehydrogenase from Sweet Potato : Purification and cDNA Sequence Analysis
It is concluded that GLDHase, L-gulono-y-lactone oxidase and L-galactono- y- lact one oxidase are homologous in spite of the difference in substrates and electron acceptors.
Cloning, sequencing, and expression of the gene encoding Clostridium paraputrificum chitinase ChiB and analysis of the functions of novel cadherin-like domains and a chitin-binding domain
Deletion analysis showed clearly that the CBD of ChiB plays an important role in hydrolysis of native chitin but not processed chitIn such as colloidal chit in C. paraputrificum.
Purification, Characterization, and Molecular Cloning of Acidophilic Xylanase from Penicillium sp.40
The gene encoding XynA (xynA) was isolated from the genomic library of Penicillium sp.
Cloning, DNA sequencing, and expression of the gene encoding Clostridium thermocellum cellulase CelJ, the largest catalytic component of the cellulosome
The results strongly suggest that CelJ is equivalent to S2, which was identified as the largest catalytic component in the cellulosome of C. thermocellum YS.
Characterization of the Cellulolytic Complex (Cellulosome) from Ruminococcus albus
Results strongly suggest that the cellulolytic complex produced by R. albus resembles the cellulosome specified for the celluloytic complex of several clostridia, which is formed by the interaction between a dockerin domain of catalytic components and a cohesindomain of a scaffolding protein.
Sequence of xynC and properties of XynC, a major component of the Clostridium thermocellum cellulosome
Immunological and N-terminal amino acid sequence analyses disclosed that the full-length XynC is one of the major components of the C. thermocellum cellulosome.
Importance of the Carbohydrate-Binding Module of Clostridium stercorarium Xyn10B to Xylan Hydrolysis
This is the first report of a family 9 CBM with an affinity for insoluble xylan in addition to crystalline cellulose and the ability to increase hydrolytic activity toward insolublexylan.
Characterization of an Endo-Processive-Type Xyloglucanase Having a β-1,4-Glucan-Binding Module and an Endo-Type Xyloglucanase from Streptomyces avermitilis
ABSTRACT We cloned two glycoside hydrolase family 74 genes, the sav_1856 gene and the sav_2574 gene, from Streptomyces avermitilis NBRC14893 and characterized the resultant recombinant proteins. The
Isolation and identification of a novel yeast fermenting ethanol under acidic conditions
Physiological properties and PCR-based 18S rRNA gene sequence showed that the yeast was closely related to Issatchenkia orientalis, and could ferment ethanol in the acidic media prepared from complete hydrolysates of starch and bread.
