RT-PCR detection and identification of three species of cucumoviruses with a genus-specific single pair of primers.
Reverse transcription and polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used for detection and identification of three cucumoviruses in various plants sources with a single pair of primers, designed as CPTALL-3 and CPTall-5, indicating that the designed primers are only specific for the Cucumovirus genus.
Distribution of cryV-type insecticidal protein genes in Bacillus thuringiensis and cloning of cryV-type genes from Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki and Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. entomocidus
Two cryV-type genes, cryV1 and cryV465, were cloned from B. thuringiensis subsp.
Regulation of the Bacillus subtilis phosphotransacetylase gene.
Experiments involving oligonucleotide-directed mutagenesis showed that the cre sequence is involved in glucose-mediated transcriptional activation, indicating that B. subtilis contains only one kind of pta gene.
Molecular and Biological Diversities of Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus from Cucurbitaceous Crops in Korea
In phylogenetic tree analyses between CGMMV isolates and other cucurbit-infecting tobamoviruses,CGMMV was subgrouped as a cluster and no remarkable molecular diversity was found among the CGMMv isolates.
cDNA cloning and gene expression of lebocin, a novel member of antibacterial peptides from the silkworm, Bombyx mori.
Results suggest that lebocin has a unique precursor structure and shows typical gene expression pattern as insect antibacterial peptide.
First Report of Cherry necrotic rusty mottle virus Infecting Sweet Cherry Trees in Korea.
To the authors' knowledge, this is the first report of CNRMV infection of sweet cherry trees in Korea and screening for this virus in propagation nurseries should minimize spread of this virus within Korea.
Physicochemical and Mineralogical Characterization of Uranium-Contaminated Soils
Physicochemical and mineralogical properties of the contaminants should be taken into account to decide a remediation strategy for a given radionuclide because development and optimization of soil
Occurrence of novel types of nitric oxide synthase in the silkworm, Bombyx mori.
Results indicate that B. mori contains new types of NO synthase, suggesting the wide distribution and different characteristics of this enzyme among vertebrates and invertebrates.
Cloning of a novel crystal protein gene cry1K from Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. morrisoni.
A novel crystal protein gene cry1K has been cloned and sequenced from a Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. morrisoni BF190 isolated from phylloplane. The upstream promoter region of cry1K was almost
