Rat lens aldose reductase inhibitory constituents of Nelumbo nucifera stamens
The methanol extract of the stamens of Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn was shown to exert an inhibitory effect on rat lens aldose reductase (RLAR), and thus was fractionated using several organic solvents, including dichloromethane, ethyl acetate and n‐butanol.
Angiotensin-converting enzyme I inhibitory activity of phlorotannins from Ecklonia stolonifera
As part of our study of the isolation of antihypertensive agents derived from natural marine products, the bioactivity of 10 edible Korean seaweeds were screened by angiotensin converting enzyme
Inhibitory Activities of Cassia tora and its Anthraquinone Constituents on Angiotensin‐Converting Enzyme
The bioactivity of seeds from raw and roasted Cassia tora via angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory assays was screened and it was found that both of the MeOH extracts from the raw and roast C. tora exhibited significant inhibitory properties against ACE.
Isorhamnetin glycosides with free radical and ONOO− scavenging activities from the stamens ofNelumbo nucifera
Two new isorhamnetin glycosides are isolated from then-BuOH fraction of Nelumbo nucifera stamens, with marked antioxidant activities in the DPPH, and ONOO− assays.
Gluco-obtusifolin and its aglycon, obtusifolin, attenuate scopolamine-induced memory impairment.
The results suggest that gluco-obtusifolin and its aglycone may be useful for the treatment of cognitive impairment, and that its beneficial effects are mediated, in part, by the enhancement of cholinergic signaling.
Inhibitory effects of kurarinol, kuraridinol, and trifolirhizin from Sophora flavescens on tyrosinase and melanin synthesis.
This is the first study indicating that 1-3 exert varying degrees of inhibition on tyrosinase-dependent melanin biosynthesis, and therefore, are candidates as skin-whitening agents.
Alaternin attenuates delayed neuronal cell death induced by transient cerebral hypoperfusion in mice.
Alaternin and emodin with hydroxyl radical inhibitory and/or scavenging activities and hepatoprotective activity on tacrine-induced cytotoxicity in HepG2 cells
Results demonstrated that both alaternin and emodin had the simultaneous antioxidant and hepatoprotective activities.
Biflavone glucosides from Ginkgo biloba yellow leaves.
Phytochemical investigation of Ginkgo biloba (Ginkgoaceae) has resulted in the isolation of two new biflavone glucosides, ginkgetin 7''-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (1) and isoginkgetin
