Molecular characterisation of Turnip mosaic virus isolates from Brassicaceae weeds
TLDR
It is shown for the first time the wide distribution and phylogenetic relationships of TuMV from weeds in the mid-Eurasia of Iran and that the IRN TRa6 and IRN SS5 isolates fell into an ancestral basal-Brassica group.
Identification and seasonal variation of viral diseases of chickpea and lentil in Iran.
TLDR
It was evident that virus spread, in both chickpea and lentil crops, was comparatively higher during 2001 than was the case during 2002, and low incidences of PSbMV, BYmV, CpCDV and AlMV were detected.
Incidence of viruses infecting winter oilseed rape (Brassica napus ssp. oleifera) in Iran
TLDR
The occurrence of BWYV, TuMV and CaMV in oilseed rape crops could have important consequences for rape seed production in Iran and infected plants could also serve as sources of virus for other susceptible vegetable crops.
SURVEYS OF BEET NECROTIC YELLOW VEIN VIRUS, BEET SOIL-BORNE VIRUS, BEET VIRUS Q AND POLYMYXA BETAE IN SUGAR BEET FIELDS IN IRAN
TLDR
High levels of virus infections (more than 70%) were found in Ardabil, Esfahan, Fars, Khorasan and Zanjan provinces, whereas Khuzestan was apparently “virus-free”.
Biological and molecular detection of Hibiscus chlorotic ringspot virus infecting Hibiscus rosa-sinensis in Iran
TLDR
The phylogenetic tree showed at least two subgroups for HCRSV isolates in which the Iranian isolate was grouped with Singapore HCSRV (NC-003608) and the first report ofHCRSV in H. rosa-sinensis in Iran was reported.
First Report of Beet soil-borne virus on Sugar Beet in Iran.
TLDR
This is the first report of BSBV occurring on sugar beet in Iran, and resembles BNYVV, the causal agent of sugar beet rhizomania, morphologically and in its transmission by Polymyxa betae.
First Report of Tomato spotted wilt virus on Soybean in Iran.
TLDR
During the summers of 1999 and 2000, 3,110 soybean leaf samples were randomly collected from soybean fields in the Ardebil, Goletan, Khuzestan, Lorestan, and Mazandaran provinces of Iran, marking the first report of the occurrence of TSWV on soybean in Iran.
First Report of Groundnut bud necrosis virus in Iran.
TLDR
During the summer of 2001, mosaic, mottle, ring mosaic, stunting, and bud necrosis were observed in peanut fields (Arachis hypogaea cv. Gilan) in the Golestan Province of Iran, first report of GBNV occurrence in Iran.
PCR DETECTION AND PARTIAL MOLECULAR CHARACTERIZATION OF CHICKPEA CHLOROTIC DWARF VIRUS IN NATURALLY INFECTED SUGAR BEET PLANTS IN IRAN
TLDR
In the present study, two specific primers were designed for detecting CpCDV which allowed the amplification of a DNA fragment of 0.64 kbp and were successfully detected in symptomatic sugar beet field samples collected from the main sugar beet production provinces of Iran.
