Dark Energy Survey year 1 results: Cosmological constraints from galaxy clustering and weak lensing
- D. Abbott, F. Abdalla, J. Zuntz
- PhysicsPhysical Review D
- 4 August 2017
We present cosmological results from a combined analysis of galaxy clustering and weak gravitational lensing, using 1321 deg2 of griz imaging data from the first year of the Dark Energy Survey (DES…
NEOWISE OBSERVATIONS OF NEAR-EARTH OBJECTS: PRELIMINARY RESULTS
- A. Mainzer, T. Grav, L. Wasserman
- Physics, Geology
- 29 September 2011
With the NEOWISE portion of the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) project, we have carried out a highly uniform survey of the near-Earth object (NEO) population at thermal infrared…
The Electromagnetic Counterpart of the Binary Neutron Star Merger LIGO/Virgo GW170817. II. UV, Optical, and Near-infrared Light Curves and Comparison to Kilonova Models
- P. Cowperthwaite, E. Berger, J. Zuntz
- Physics
- 16 October 2017
We present UV, optical, and near-infrared (NIR) photometry of the first electromagnetic counterpart to a gravitational wave source from Advanced Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory…
Multi-messenger Observations of a Binary Neutron Star Merger
- B. Abbott, R. Abbott, P. Woudt
- PhysicsProceedings of Multifrequency Behaviour of High…
- 26 October 2019
On 2017 August 17 a binary neutron star coalescence candidate (later designated GW170817) with merger time 12:41:04 UTC was observed through gravitational waves by the Advanced LIGO and Advanced…
EIGHT NEW MILKY WAY COMPANIONS DISCOVERED IN FIRST-YEAR DARK ENERGY SURVEY DATA
- K. Bechtol, A. Drlica-Wagner, J. Zuntz
- Physics
- 9 March 2015
We report the discovery of eight new Milky Way companions in ∼ 1800 deg 2 ?> of optical imaging data collected during the first year of the Dark Energy Survey (DES). Each system is identified as a…
GALAXY CLUSTERS DISCOVERED VIA THE SUNYAEV–ZEL'DOVICH EFFECT IN THE 2500-SQUARE-DEGREE SPT-SZ SURVEY
- L. Bleem, B. Stalder, A. Zenteno
- Physics
- 2 September 2014
We present a catalog of galaxy clusters selected via their Sunyaev–Zel'dovich (SZ) effect signature from 2500 deg2 of South Pole Telescope (SPT) data. This work represents the complete sample of…
A massive, cooling-flow-induced starburst in the core of a luminous cluster of galaxies
- M. McDonald, M. Bayliss, A. Zenteno
- PhysicsNature
- 14 August 2012
An exceptionally luminous galaxy cluster that hosts an extremely strong cooling flow and a large star-formation rate implies that a significant fraction of the stars in the central galaxy of this cluster may form through accretion of the intracluster medium, rather than (as is currently thought) assembling entirely via mergers.
A SUNYAEV–ZEL'DOVICH-SELECTED SAMPLE OF THE MOST MASSIVE GALAXY CLUSTERS IN THE 2500 deg2 SOUTH POLE TELESCOPE SURVEY
- R. Williamson, B. Benson, A. Zenteno
- Physics
- 6 January 2011
The South Pole Telescope (SPT) is currently surveying 2500 deg2 of the southern sky to detect massive galaxy clusters out to the epoch of their formation using the Sunyaev–Zel'dovich (SZ) effect.…
A gravitational-wave standard siren measurement of the Hubble constant
- B. Abbott, R. Abbott, M. Serra-Ricart
- PhysicsNature
- 16 October 2017
A measurement of the Hubble constant is reported that combines the distance to the source inferred purely from the gravitational-wave signal with the recession velocity inferred from measurements of the redshift using the electromagnetic data.
The Dark Energy Survey: Data Release 1
- T. Abbott, F. Abdalla, J. Zuntz
- PhysicsAstrophysical Journal Supplement Series
- 9 January 2018
We describe the first public data release of the Dark Energy Survey, DES DR1, consisting of reduced single-epoch images, co-added images, co-added source catalogs, and associated products and…
