Robust Object Recognition with Cortex-Like Mechanisms
We introduce a general framework for the recognition of complex visual scenes, which is motivated by biology: We describe a hierarchical system that closely follows the organization of visual cortex and builds an increasingly complex and invariant feature representation by alternating between a template matching and a maximum pooling operation. Street Scenes: towards scene understanding in still images
This thesis describes an effort to construct a scene understanding system that is able to analyze the content of real images. Expand
A Critical View of Context
Using context alone, we demonstrate robust detection of locations likely to contain bicycles, cars, and pedestrians in a street scene. Expand
A Unified System For Object Detection, Texture Recognition, and Context Analysis Based on the Standard Model Feature Set
In this paper, we investigate the utility of these features in other common scene-understanding tasks. Expand
TensorFlow.js: Machine Learning for the Web and Beyond
TensorFlow.js has empowered a new set of developers from the extensive JavaScript community to build and deploy machine learning models and enabled new classes of on-device computation. Expand

  • 17 June 2007
In this work we attempt to improve the accuracy of object detection systems by including new features that explicitly capture mid-level Gestalt concepts and together enable better detectors for challenging real-world data sets. Expand
Combining variable selection with dimensionality reduction
This paper bridges the gap between variable selection methods (e.g., Pearson coefficients, KS test) and dimensionality reduction algorithms by applying variable selection followed bydimensionality reduction. Expand
Fully automatic calibration of LIDAR and video streams from a vehicle

  • Computer Science, Geography
  • IEEE 12th International Conference on Computer…
  • 1 September 2009
This work describes a fully automatic technique to calibrate a geometric mapping between lidar and video feeds on a mobile ground-based platform. Expand
Perception Strategies in Hierarchical Vision Systems
We study the role of feedback connections in the primate visual system. Expand
Advances in component based face detection
We describe the design of a component based face detector for gray scale images. Expand
