Genetic diversity of Alternaria alternata Isolates Causing Potato Brown Leaf Spot, Using ISSR Markers in Iran
TLDR
After morphological identification, it was revealed that A. alternata isolates from potato had the highest frequency distribution and there was some correlation between the grouping of isolates regarding their geographic location, pathogenicity and potato cultivars.
Morphological and molecular identification of Cytospora chrysosperma causing canker disease on Prunus persica
TLDR
Morphological and cultural characteristics, as well as the sequences of the ITS and β-tubulin regions and pathogenicity tests, showed that the causal agent of disease was Cytospora chrysosperma and this is the first report of C. chrysOSperma on P. persica in the world and Iran.
FIRST REPORT OF LEAF SPOT CAUSED BY ARTHRINIUM ARUNDINIS ON ROSEMARY IN IRAN
TLDR
This is the first report of leaf spot caused by A. arundinis on R. officinalis in Iran and pathogenicity tests were done twice on fully developed plants.
First report of leaf spot of strawberry caused by Alternaria tenuissima in Iran.
TLDR
During a survey in autumn of 2013, leaf spots symptoms on strawberry (Fragaria ananassa) leaves were observed in Kurdistan province, Iran, and isolates of Alternaria were identified as A. tenuissima, which is the first report of A.TenuISSima on strawberry in Iran.
FIRST REPORT OF COLLETOTRICHUM SANSEVIERIAE CAUSING ANTHRACNOSE ON SANSEVIERIA TRIFASCIATA IN IRAN
TLDR
To the authors' knowledge, this is the first report of anthracnose caused by C. sansevieriae on S. trifasciata in Iran and it was consistently reisolated from artificially infected plants.
First report of Phyllosticta capitalensis causing leaf spots on ornamental Magnolia grandiflora and Syringa reticulata in Iran
TLDR
A number of species in the family Magnoliaceae, which are native to North America and Japan, have been introduced into cultivation in Asia.
Colletotrichum gloeosporioides sensu stricto, the causal agent of a leaf spot disease of Schefflera arboricola in Iran
TLDR
Pathogenicity tests showed that the fungus is the causal agent of leaf spot on S. arboricola shrubs in Iran, the first report of C. gloeosporioides sensu stricto in Iran.
Colletotrichum gloeosporioides s . str . , the causal agent of a leaf spot disease of Schefflera arboricola in Iran
Schefflera arboricola is a flowering plant in the family Araliaceae; its common name is dwarf umbrella tree. It is an evergreen shrub and a popular ornamental plant, commonly grown as an indoor
First report of leaf spot caused by Alternaria alternata on Drimia maritima
TLDR
A fungus was consistently isolated from infected leaves and identified as Alternaria alternata based on morphological and phylogenetic analyses and confirmed to be the causal agent of the newly observed leaf spot disease.
