A technique for accurately determining the resistivity and relative permeability of tubular stock is presented. The technique is based on measurements of the inductance of a coil wound on a toroidal sample of the material, with circular cross section. Measurements for J-55 material are also included.
The well-known equations for the axial internal impedance of tubular stock at high frequencies are examined and approximate solutions valid for all frequencies, diameters and wall thicknesses are formulated.
