FOLLOWING THE death of a patient on the ward, we closed the curtains around the other patients' beds so the body could be removed. One patient said: 'It's all right nurse. I know what's happened.' She made me think. What was our rationale for drawing those curtains? We are adopting a "what you can't see, can't harm you' philosophy.
