To identify the molecular markers linked to Lr28 the available microsatellite markers for wheat chromosome arm 4AL were surveyed on near isogenic lines (NILs) of Triticum aestivum cultivars having Lr26 gene, other Lrgenes and susceptible cultivars and a null allele of Xgwm 160 marker was found to be associated with Lr 28.

Stable expression of G. barbadense fiber quality alleles in the Sealand lines and the absence of these allele in upland germplasm make these introgression lines a valuable resource for fiber quality improvement, and markerassisted introgressive of the qFL-Chr25 locus from Sealand 883 should result in improved fiber length, whereas that of qMIC-Chchr24 from sealand 542 should results in finer fiber.
Transcriptome analysis of a nematode resistant and susceptible upland cotton line at two critical stages of Meloidogyne incognita infection and development
The comparative transcriptomic approach was applied to compare expression profiles of genes between RKN susceptible and resistance genotypes at an early stage of RKN development that coincides with the establishment of a feeding site and at the late stage of Gossypium hirsutum egg production, showing that the DEGs in the resistant genotype displayed higher expression of defense response, detoxification and callose deposition genes, than the DEG in the susceptible genotype.
