Query Answering for OWL-DL with Rules
- B. Motik, U. Sattler, R. Studer
- Computer ScienceInternational Workshop on the Semantic Web
- 7 November 2004
A decidable combination of OWL-DL and function-free Horn rules where rules are required to be DL-safe: each variable in the rule is required to occur in a non-DL-atom in therule body.
Knowledge Processes and Ontologies
An approach for ontology-based knowledge management (KM) that includes a tool suite and a methodology for developing ontological-based KM systems is presented, illustrated by CHAR (Corporate History AnalyzeR), a KM system for corporate history analysis.
Ontobroker: Ontology Based Access to Distributed and Semi-Structured Information
Ontobroker is developed which uses formal ontologies to extract, reason, and generate metadata in the WWW, and the generation of RDF descriptions enables the exploitation of the ontological information in RDF-based applications.
Ontologies and the Semantic Web
This special issue of IC focuses on the use of the Web by computer systems and agents and argues that by supporting the notion of “getting work done,” the Semantic Web will become more useful, valuable, and pragmatic.
The Design Process in
A model for design rationale is adopted which does not contain some of the aspects included in the proposals of (Potts and Bruns, 1988; Lee, 1991) such as, e.g., a detailed description of the argumentation for or against design alternatives.
OntoEdit: Collaborative Ontology Development for the Semantic Web
- York Sure-Vetter, Michael Erdmann, J. Angele, Steffen Staab, R. Studer, Dirk Wenke
- Computer ScienceSEMWEB
- 9 June 2002
This paper focuses on collaborative development of ontologies with OntoEdit which is guided by a comprehensive methodology.
Semantic Web Technologies: Trends and Research in Ontology-based Systems
This chapter discusses the development of Semantic Web Services Grounding using Ontology Engineering Methodologies, which involves mapping and Querying Disparate Knowledge Bases to Reasoning with Inconsistency.
- Max Völkel, M. Krötzsch, Denny Vrandečić, H. Haller, R. Studer
- Computer ScienceWWW '06
- 1 December 2007
This paper provides an extension to be integrated in Wikipedia, that allows the typing of links between articles and the specification of typed data inside the articles in an easy-to-use manner, and presents the design, implementation, and possible uses of this extension.
AST: Support for Algorithm Selection with a CBR Approach
The Algorithm Selection Tool (AST) is described that is one component in a general framework for defining user support for Data Mining algorithms in the field of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD).
