The Colletotrichum boninense species complex
Seven of the new species are only known from New Zealand, perhaps reflecting a sampling bias, and the new combination C. phyllanthi was made, and C. dracaenae Petch was epitypified and the name replaced with C. petchii.

Stem cankers on sunflower (Helianthus annuus) in Australia reveal a complex of pathogenic Diaporthe (Phomopsis) species
It is shown that there has been broad misapplication of the name D. helianthi to many isolates of Diaporthe (Phomopsis) found causing, or associated with, stem cankers on sunflower.
Fungal Planet description sheets: 107–127
Novel species of microfungi described in the present study include the following from Australia and South Africa; Morphological and culture characteristics along with ITS DNA barcodes are provided for all taxa.
A phylogenetic and taxonomic re-evaluation of the Bipolaris - Cochliobolus - Curvularia Complex
The nomenclatural conflict in this complex is resolved giving priority to the more commonly used established generic names Bipolaris and Curvularia, and species resolved in this study are transferred to one of these genera based on their phylogeny.
Genera of phytopathogenic fungi: GOPHY 1
Endophytic and pathogenic Phyllosticta species, with reference to those associated with Citrus Black Spot
DNA sequence analysis of the nrDNA internal transcribed spacer region and partial translation elongation factor 1-alpha (TEF1), actin and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPDH) genes resolved nine clades correlating to seven known, and two apparently undescribed species, suggesting that endophytic, non-pathogenic isolate occurring on a wide host range would be more correctly referred to as P. capitalensis.
Fungal Planet description sheets: 69–91
Morphological and culture characteristics along with ITS DNA barcodes are provided for all taxa.
Notes for genera: Ascomycota
This work is intended to provide the foundation for updating the ascomycete component of the “Without prejudice list of generic names of Fungi” published in 2013, which will be developed into a list of protected generic names.
