A k ⋅ p model of the j = 3/2 fermions is proposed to explain how a dominant J = 3 septet pairing state is the simplest solution that naturally produces nodes in the mixed even-odd parity gap, and has strong potential for leading the development of a new series of topological superconductors.

Penetration depth study of superconducting gap structure of 2H-NbSe2.
Measurements of the temperature dependence of both in-plane and out-of-plane penetration depths in 2H-NbSe2 suggest that the gap structure is not simply related to the weak electron-phonon coupling on the Se sheet and is therefore important for microscopic models of anisotropic superconductivity in this compound.
