Functional genomics uncovers three glucosyltransferases involved in the synthesis of the major sweet glucosides of Stevia rebaudiana.
It is determined that steviol UGTs behave in a regioselective manner and propose a modified pathway for the synthesis of rebaudioside A from steviola, and an in vitro glucosyltransferase activity enzyme assay was conducted.
Effect of harvest date on the yield and quality of the essential oil of peppermint
Preliminary results indicate that peppermint can be grown successfully on the loamy sand soil and the concentrations of menthofuran and pulegone in the essential oil corresponded to the amount of flower bloom in the peppermint.
Optimum Nitrogen Fertilizer Rate for Peppermint (Mentha piperita L.) in Ontario, Canada
ABSTRACT A field experiment was conducted in 1990 and 1991, on Fox loamy sand soil in Ontario, Canada to study the effects of different rates (0, 60, 120, 180, 240 and 300 kg/ha) of nitrogen (N)
The chemical composition of somatic hybrids between Nicotiana tabacum and N. debneyi
The chemical composition of the individual somatic hybrids was often intermediate between the two species; however, there were instances where the concentration of individual constituents was similar to one of the species, or where concentrations were in excess of either parental species.
Effect of transplanting date on the fatty acid composition, oil content and yield of evening primrose (Oenothera biennis L.) seed
The influence of transplanting time on the growth of evening primrose (Oenothera biennis L.) was investigated, and only in one year did the γ-linolenic acid content of the oil decrease with delays in transplanting.
