Decapod crustaceans of the littoral and shallow sublittoral Iranian coast of the Persian Gulf: Faunistics, Biodiversity and Zoogeography
A considerable number of species is restricted to the northwestern Indian Ocean (27%), supporting the presence of a zoogeographical subregion within the western Indian Ocean Province.
Intertidal habitats and decapod (Crustacea) diversity of Qeshm Island, a biodiversity hotspot within the Persian Gulf
Qualitative rapid assessments and taxonomic surveys of decapod crustaceans were carried out along the entire coastline of Qeshm Island, finding the combined habitat “rocky/cobble”, occurring mainly along the south coast, had the highest species diversity.

- 4 October 2011
Grapsoid crabs, together with ocypodoids, are the two most important groups of intertidal brachyurans in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. In total, four families, nine genera and 12 species of…
A checklist of the barnacles (Crustacea: Cirripedia: Thoracica) of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman with nine new records.
The present annotated checklist contains 43 species of thoracican barnacles known to date from the area, 33 and 26 from the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, respectively. Nine species are new…
Taxonomic revision of the wide-front fiddler crabs of the Uca lactea group (Crustacea: Decapoda: Brachyura: Ocypodidae) in the Indo-West Pacific
The Indo-West Pacific broad-front fiddler crabs, formerly attributed to the "lactea species-group" are revised and Uca (Austruca) presently covers 7 species, partly with a restricted regional distribution, of which one (Uca cryptica sp. nov. from Indonesia) is new to science.
Subtidal crabs of the Iranian coast of the Persian Gulf: New collections and biogeographic considerations
Zoogeographical analysis shows that a high proportion (27%) of the Iranian subtidal crabs have world distribution in the Northern part of Indo-West Pacific region and only two endemic species were found.
Patterns of structural and functional diversity of macrofaunal communities in a subtropical mangrove ecosystem
Annotated checklist of the decapod crustaceans of the Gulf of Oman, northwestern Indian Ocean.
The decapod crustaceans of the Gulf of Oman have been documented based on the published literature and new sampling along the Iranian coast between 2005 and 2015, with the northern coast with 189 species is more diverse than the southern coast with 134 species.
A review of the Chaenostoma boscii species-complex (Decapoda: Brachyura: Macrophthalmidae) from the Indo-West Pacific
After examining specimens of the C. boscii species-complex from East Africa, the Malay Peninsula, Indonesia, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Taiwan, and the Ryukyus, the sentinel crabs are considered to be valid species, and C. lisae (Poupin & Bouchard, 2010) is found to be a synonym of C. crassimanus.
