- Medicine, BiologyThe American journal of clinical nutrition

Short-term vitamin E supplementation improves immune responsiveness in healthy elderly individuals; this effect appears to be mediated by a decrease in PGE2 and/or other lipid-peroxidation products.
Induction of immune responses in patients with B-cell lymphoma against the surface-immunoglobulin idiotype expressed by their tumors.
- L. Kwak, M. Campbell, D. Czerwinski, S. Hart, R. Miller, R. Levy
- Medicine, BiologyThe New England journal of medicine
- 22 October 1992
Results demonstrate that autologous immunoglobulin idiotype can be formulated into an immunogenic, tumor-specific antigen in humans with B-cell lymphoma, and they provide the background for large-scale trials of active specific immunotherapy of this disease.
Treatment of B-cell lymphoma with monoclonal anti-idiotype antibody.
- R. Miller, D. Maloney, R. Warnke, R. Levy
- Biology, MedicineThe New England journal of medicine
- 4 March 1982
It is shown that anti-idiotype antibodies can be used to monitor B-cell tumors and to investigate the biology of these tumors, and the unique immunoglobulin variable region of each lymphoma clone may be considered a tumor-specific marker.
Carcinogenicity of 1,3-butadiene in C57BL/6 x C3H F1 mice at low exposure concentrations.
There is a worldwide public health need to reevaluate current workplace exposure standards for 1,3-butadiene as a potent multisite carcinogenic response was observed in these 2-yr inhalation studies.
Cluster formation by protein kinase Ctheta during murine T cell activation: effect of age.
Protein kinase Ctheta; (PKCtheta;) is thought to play an important role in T cell activation, in that exposure of cloned T cells to antigen-presenting cells bearing agonist peptides, but not…
Frequencies of IL-2- and IL-4-secreting T cells in naive and antigen-stimulated lymphocyte populations.
Analysis of the frequencies of helper cells producing both IL-2 and IL-4 at various stages of the in vivo immune response and the requirements for their growth and differentiation should give a better understanding of the relative contributions of each cell type.
A computer-assisted medical diagnostic consultation service. Implementation and prospective evaluation of a prototype.

Computer-aided diagnostic consultation, when provided by physicians familiar with the limitations of the system and capable of overriding inappropriate suggestions, was both accurate and educationally helpful in most cases.
Carcinogenicity of inhaled vanadium pentoxide in F344/N rats and B6C3F1 mice.
V2O5 exposure was a pulmonary carcinogen in male rats and male and female mice and increases in chronic inflammation, interstitial fibrosis, and alveolar and bronchiolar hyperplasia/metaplasia and squamous metaplasia were observed in exposedmale and female rats.
