The data indicate that a tight Apc-mediated control of β-catenin levels is essential for differentiation of skeletal precursors as well as for the maintenance of a chondrocytic phenotype in a spatio-temporal regulated manner.
Small molecule inhibitors of WNT/β-catenin signaling block IL-1β- and TNFα-induced cartilage degradation

It is shown that inhibition of WNT/β-catenin signaling by small molecules can effectively prevent IL-1β- and TNFα-induced cartilage degradation by blocking MMP expression and activity.

Detailed dose data is presented from three-phase CTU examinations performed both before and after implementation of a scanning protocol that uses iterative reconstruction (Adaptive Iterative Dose Reduction 3D [AIDR 3D]).
Inhibition of Gsk3b in cartilage induces osteoarthritic features through activation of the canonical Wnt signaling pathway
- R. Miclea, M. Siebelt, M. Karperien
- Medicine

This work aims to demonstrate the efforts towards in-situ applicability of EMMARM, which aims to provide real-time information about the dynamic response of the immune system to disease.
WNT Signaling and Cartilage: Of Mice and Men
- B. Ma, E. Landman, M. Karperien
- BiologyCalcified Tissue International

Because WNT signaling was found to be involved in the development and maintenance of Cartilage as well as in the degeneration of cartilage, interfering with this pathway might contribute to improving cartilage regeneration.

In transient transfection assays, it is shown that PTHrP is able to positively regulate the activity of Stat3-specific and negatively regulate theactivity of Stat5-specific promoter-reporter constructs in ATDC5 and UMR106 cells, suggesting a previously unrecognized interaction between P THrP and Janus kinase/Stat signaling.
