Mineral and protein contents of some marine algae from the coastal areas of Northern Sri Lanka
Algae such as Gracilaria edulis, Laurencia obtusa, Sargassum polycystum, Ulva lactuca and Graciliaria crassa and Thalasia hemprichi have fairly large amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium and hence could be used as fertilizers.
Boron content of marine algae from the Mandaitivu and Kirinda coasts and mineral content of nine species of algae from the Kirinda coast
The boron content of eighteen species of marine algae collected from the Mandaitivu and Kirinda coasts is reported here and the feasibility of using algae, such as Gracilaria crassa, as fertilizer to meet the borOn and other mineral requirement is discussed.
Chemical constituents of some species of holothurians found in Sri Lanka
t The sodium, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium and phosphorus contents of the six /Holothurian species Holothuria scabra, Holothuria atra, Holothuria nobilis, Holothurin leucospilota, Bohadschia
Nitrate-nitrogen content of well water and soil from selected areas in the Jaffna Peninsula
This paper describes the results of a study concerning the amount of nitrate present in drinking water and soil in selected locations in the Jaffna Peninsula. In several places the amount of
1H and 13C NMR studies of isomerism in hydroxamic acids
1H and 13C NMR studies of N‐methyl‐substituted hydroxamic acids, RCON(CH3)OH (R = CH3, C2H5 and C6H5), show that the series exhibits cis–trans isomerism about the CN bond. The Z/E ratio increases in
cis–trans Isomerism in monoalkylhydroxamic acids by 1H, 13C and 15N NMR spectroscopy
The first example of cis–trans isomerism in monoalkylhydroxamic acids, detected by 1H, 13C and 15N NMR spectroscopy, is reported. The 15N NMR spectrum of CH3CO15NHOH gave a clear assignment of the OH
Co-ordination of hydrazine and substituted hydrazines on reaction with [Rh2(CO)4Cl2] and disproportionation of 1,2-N2H2Ph2
The progressive addition of hydrazine and the following increasingly substituted hydrazines L (N2H4 Ia, H2NNHMe Ib, H2NNHPh Ie, H2NNMe2 Id, or MeHNNHMe Ic) to [Rh2(CO)4Cl2] resulted in the initial
Chemical investigation of Ceylonese plants. Part 24. New chromenoflavonoids from the bark of artocarpus nobilis Thw. (Moraceae).
From the bark extract of Artocarpus nobilis Thw. (Moraceae) six new chromenoflavonoids have been isolated. Five of them have been characterised and named artobilochromen (1), chromanoartobilochromen
