Identification of Male Gametogenesis Expressed Genes from the Scallop Nodipecten subnodosus by Suppressive Subtraction Hybridization and Pyrosequencing
- R. Llera‐Herrera, A. García‐Gasca, C. Abreu-Goodger, A. Huvet, A. Ibarra
- BiologyPloS one
- 16 September 2013
Despite the great advances in sequencing technologies, genomic and transcriptomic information for marine non-model species with ecological, evolutionary, and economical interest is still scarce. In…
Polymorphism at the ITS and NTS Loci of Perkinsus marinus isolated from cultivated oyster Crassostrea corteziensis in Nayarit, Mexico and phylogentic relationship to P. marinus along the Atlantic…

The most frequent polymorphism identified was at nucleotide 446 of the ITS region; however, the NTS showed the highest nucleotide diversity, thereby suggesting that this region is suitable for genotype identification.
Isolation of the sex-determining gene Sex-lethal (Sxl) in Penaeus (Litopenaeus) vannamei (Boone, 1931) and characterization of its embryogenic, gametogenic, and tissue-specific expression.
Identification of a tubulin-α gene specifically expressed in testis and adductor muscle during stable reference gene selection in the hermaphrodite gonad of the lion's paw scallop Nodipecten…
SNP markers for the genetic characterization of Mexican shrimp broodstocks.
Subchronic organismal toxicity, cytotoxicity, genotoxicity, and feeding response of pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas) to lindane (γ‐HCH) exposure under experimental conditions
- Gerardo Anguiano, R. Llera‐Herrera, E. Rojas, C. Vazquez-Boucard
- BiologyEnvironmental toxicology and chemistry
- 1 October 2007
The results show the subchronic effects of γ‐HCH at different concentrations and effect sensitivities are categorized as filtration rate < genotoxicity < cytotoxicity > mortality, and the relevance of integral toxicity evaluation, considering different endpoints from molecular, cellular, and individual levels is discussed.
Molecular variability and genetic structure of white spot syndrome virus strains from northwest Mexico based on the analysis of genomes
- Delia Patricia Parrilla-Taylor, N. Vibanco-Pérez, M. J. Durán-Avelar, B. Gómez‐Gil, R. Llera‐Herrera, R. Vázquez-Juárez
- BiologyFEMS microbiology letters

The data offer insights into the diversity of the WSSV genome in one country and their divergent origin, suggest that it entered Mexico via multiple routes and that specific genome regions can accommodate substantial deletions without compromising viability.
Genome-wide identification of ABC transporters in monogeneans.
Using nutrigenomics to evaluate microdiet performance in pike silverside larvae
Transcriptomic information from Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) ovary and eyestalk, and expression patterns for genes putatively involved in the reproductive process.
