Vitamin D deficiency in critically ill children with sepsis.
A high prevalence of VDD in critically ill children with sepsis was found but it was not associated with greater severity of illness or other clinical outcomes.
Effect of sub-chronic selenium toxicosis on lipid peroxidation, glutathione redox cycle and antioxidant enzymes in calves.
The hypothesis that the pro-oxidant attributes of selenium play important roles in its toxicity is supported, as evidenced by a 3-fold increase in lipid peroxidation: activities of glutathione-S-transferase, glutathion reductase, superoxide dismutase and catalase were significantly increased.
Prevalence of Mood and Anxiety Disorders in Opioid Addicts.
It was revealed that opioid dependent patient with a depressed mood at the beginning of treatment may be less likely to be abstinent at follow-up than other opioid dependents with a normal mood.
Correlation Analysis of Groundwater Quality of Bichhwal Industrial Area, Bikaner
With the rapid growth of industries, pollution in natural waters by industrial wastes has increased tremendously. Due to lack of treatment and improper modes of disposal of wastes, the water bodies
Protective effects of a novel sea buckthorn wine on oxidative stress and hypercholesterolemia.
Oral administration of sea buckthorn wine increased the redox ratio accompanied by reduction of oxidized glutathione levels leading to attenuation of phorone-induced oxidative stress and improved resistance to oxidative stress, and supplementation reduced hepatic lipid peroxidation and increased the superoxide dismutase activity indicating improved resistanceto oxidative stress.
