Human P-glycoprotein transports cyclosporin A and FK506.
Results indicate that P-glycoprotein transports the immunosuppressive agents cyclosporin A and FK506. Expand
Human P-glycoprotein transports cortisol, aldosterone, and dexamethasone, but not progesterone.
The results suggest that cortisol and aldosterone are physiological substrates for P-glycoprotein in the human adrenal cortex and that substances that efficiently bind to P- glycoprotein are not necessarily transported by P- Glycoprotein. Expand
Transport of digoxin by human P-glycoprotein expressed in a porcine kidney epithelial cell line (LLC-PK1).
It is demonstrated that digoxin is transported by human P-glycoprotein, which is a previously undiscovered drug transport system in the kidney other than organic cation and anion transport systems, and suggest a molecular mechanism for the renal tubular secretion of digoxin as well as clinically important digoxin-quinidine interaction via P- glycoprotein. Population pharmacokinetics of vancomycin in Japanese adult patients.
Population pharmacokinetic parameters of vancomycin (VCM) in Japanese adult patients infected with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) were estimated, and guidelines for dosage adjustment in VCM therapy are discussed. Expand
Carrier-mediated transport systems of tetraethylammonium in rat renal brush-border and basolateral membrane vesicles.
The results suggest that tetraethylammonium transport across brush-border membranes is driven by an H+ gradient via an electroneutral H+-tetraethyammonium antiport system, and that this process is stimulated by an inside-negative membrane potential. Expand
P‐glycoprotein‐mediated transcellular transport of MDR‐reversing agents
Transcellular transport of several MDR modulators is examined by using a drug‐sensitive epithelial cell line and its transformant cell line, LLC‐GA5‐COL300, which expresses human P‐glycoprotein on the apical surface to suggest that some MDRmodulators exert their inhibitory effect not only by blocking the initial binding of anticancer drugs but throughout the course of the transport process. The Surface Tension and the Critical Micelle Concentration in Aqueous Solution of β-D-Alkyl Glucosides and their Mixtures
The surface tension in aqueous solutions of β-D-alkyl glucoside and their mixtures at 25°C has been measured. The CMC was determined from the inflexions of the curves; octyl glucoside, 0.025 mol./1.,Expand
H+-gradient-dependent active transport of tetraethylammonium cation in apical-membrane vesicles isolated from kidney epithelial cell line LLC-PK1.
It is suggested that apical membranes isolated from the LLC-PK1 cells retain the transport characteristics of NEt4+ similar to those observed in renal brush-border membranes. Expand
Transport of organic anion in the OK kidney epithelial cell line.
It is suggested that ok cells can transport PAH by the organic anion transport system unidirectionally from basal to apical side across the cell monolayers and that OK cells might be a useful model for the study of organic anions secretion in the renal proximal tubules. Expand
